Install Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread XWJVH ROM In Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung Galaxy S users find themselves again in Luck because there is a new update Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread (XWJVH) for Samsung Galaxy S. Previously; A new version XWJVH Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM is leaked for the Samsung Galaxy s i9000. This version is said to be more stable and smooth. Gingerbread was announced for the Android Devices of latest Version but luckily the Dev team On XDA-Developers is able to Update Samsung galaxy SI9000 to Gingerbread 2.3.3.
Following are details of the leaked version:

Requirements:
·         Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM XWJVH for Samsung Galaxy S Download Here
·         ODIN flashing tool Download Here
·         Samsung USB drivers for your Samsung Android device.  Download here
·         Alternatively, you can install Kies that is shipped with your device. It will have all the drivers for making USB connection with your PC.USB CablePIT Download Here
Procedure: 
·         Before Proceeding make sure that you have the enough battery Power to flash a new Rom.
·         Download all the Files which are required for flashing gingerbread on your Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
·         Download Android 2.3.3 XWJVH ROM and extract the contents using password samfirmware.com. [Credits to samfirmware.com for uploading the leaked ROM]
·         Run the ODIN (previously downloaded)
·         Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S i9000
·         Put the phone into “Download mode”. To do it, press and hold “Volume Down” button, “Power” button, and “Home” key simultaneously for few seconds. It should boot into “Download Mode” in which you will see a yellow android character with a sweeper with “DON’T TURN OFF THE TARGET” message.
·         Now Connect the Phone with PC via USB Cable.
·         When ODIN will be Opened, A box will be turned to yellow.

·         Click ‘PDA’ button in ODIN, browse and select the ‘JVH_JV3_JPO.tar’ file that you earlier downloaded.
·         Click ‘PIT’ button, browse and select the PIT file that you downloaded.
·         Make sure ONLY  ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F.Reset Time’ checked in options.
·         Now Click on Start and Sit back and Relax.
·         After successful flashing, you will see message “PASS” in green color in the ODIN interface.

·         Your Phone will be rebooted and you can disconnect the Samsung Galaxy from PC.
·         Congrats! You have successfully installed Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread XWJVH on your Samsung Galaxy S i9000.
To Check this Go to
Applications>Settings>about Phone>Firmware Version
And the Firmware Version should be 2.3.3 XWJVH

Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.3 Gingerbread Official Update Leaks

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 has not yet received official Android 2.3 Gingerbread update from Samsung but there’s an official Gingerbread leak in the wild. This is a beta build of the upcoming official Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Samsung Galaxy S i9000 and it works perfectly without any issue. If you want to install Android 2.3 Gingerbread on your Galaxy S i9000, then follow the guide after the break.

Please note that this guide is for only Samsung Galaxy S i9000 model, any other model is not supported. So make sure you have the i9000 model of Samsung Galaxy S. 

How to install Samsung Galaxy S Android Gingerbread

Requirements:

  • Samsung Galaxy S i9000
  • Download and Install latest version of KIES or PC Studio for the latest drivers.
  • Odin-1.7with.pit.512.803.zip (Click here to download)
  • Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread 2.3.2 I9000XWJV1 ROM upgrade file XWJV1.zip (Click here to download)
  • USB cable.

Step 1:
Extract the Odin-1.7with.pit.512.803.zip file. You will find the following 3 files.

  • Odin3 v1.7
  • s1_odin_20100512.pit
  • s1_odin_20100803.pit

Step 2:
Extract Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread update firmware file XWJV1.zip .You will find the following 3 files.

  • GT-I9000-MULTI-CSC-OXXJV1.tar.md5
  • MODEM_I9000XXJVE.tar.md5
  • CODE_I9000XWJV1_CL31216_REV03_user_mid_noship.tar.md5

Step 3:
Run Odin3 v1.7 which you downloaded and extracted in Step 1.

Step 4:
Click on PIT button (in Red circle) and select the “s1_odin_20100803.pit” file (Downloaded in Step 1).
Step 5:
Click on PDA button (in Yellow circle) and select the “CODE_I9000XWJV1_CL31216_REV03_user_mid_noship.tar.md5″. (Downloaded in Step 2)
Step 6:
Click on PHONE button (in Green circle) and select the “MODEM_I9000XXJVE.tar.md5″. (Downloaded in Step 2)
Step 7:
Click on CSC button (in Blue Circle) and select the “GT-I9000-MULTI-CSC-OXXJV1.tar.md5″. (Downloaded in Step 2)

Step 8:
Please make sure the only following Checkboxes are Checked and no other option is Checked. (This is an important step so make sure you are not doing anything wrong!)

  • Auto Reboot
  • F.Reset Time

Step 9:
Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S.
Step 10:
Now remove any SIM card and microSD memory card.
Step 11:
Hold down these 3 buttons Power, Volume Down and Home at once until the phone boots in Download Mode
Step 12:
Connect your Samsung Galaxy S which is in Download Mode with the computer using the USB Cable
Step 13:
Odin will confirm your phone is connected by “ID-COM” bar as you can see in the picture below.

Step 14 :
Click on START button to install Gingerbread.

Step 15:
Now wait for the process to finish and it will reboot in Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread
To confirm the upgrade navigate to Options -> Settings -> About Phone (scroll down and check the version).
