The modaco.com founder PaulOBrein has patched the Facebook apps so they can be installed on almost any device without rooting them.

The mega addictive iPhone game Temple Run is finally released for the Android based devices. The game has hit the play store today and is available for download globally. The specifications of the game are:
New update is out for the Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 users waiting for the loved CyanogenMod’s Ice Cream Sandwich release better know as CM9 by Teamhacksung. This ROM is currently is in Alpha stage and the tutorial below is for installing the Build 16 of the same. Please note that this tutorial is exclusively applicable to the Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 (International Version) ONLY.
Some pre-requisites to be followed are:
Taking the back-up: This is a must thing that should be done. Get into Clockworkmod Recovery and select backup. It would take around 10 minutes to complete the backup. Please make sure that the battery is fully charged.
Alternatively, you can take the back up of only the apps using Astro File Manager or Titanium Backup which are freely available in the android market.
Also, to take up the backup of sms and call logs you may use SMS Backup+ which again is freely available in android market. It syncs your call logs and sms as labels to your gmail account.
Root users can make a nandroid backup using the Clockworkmod Recovery App.
Now, for the Installation of the CM9, the following downloads must be made and copied to the root folder of the phone:
—Make sure the the device has 100% battery so that, there aren’t any problems during the flashing—
Now, to flash this ROM, it is necessary that your current ROM is a rooted one. If not, then please head here to install Android 2.3.6 and root it from here. Then, you may continue installing CM9 by doing the following:
To enter into recovery mode one needs to press the three button combo:
Get into Recovery Mode
Clean Cache and do Factory reset.
Install ROM from sdcard. For this enter into the recovery, move to install zip from sdcard using the Volume Up/Down Keys, and click on the Home key to enter. Then select choose zip from sdcard and in the next screen navigate to the ROM file and select it.
Install Google Apps (Optional): For this first ROM Manager has to be installed from the Android Market (Free). Once that is done, open ROM Manager, at opening the app, it will ask for the SuperUser rights. Click on allow. Next, navigate to the Download ROM under the ROM Management section. Under the Free tab, loacate Google Apps. Select the latest one having the Subtitle as Recommended for CM9.xx. (At the time of publishing this tutorial, “20120212 ICS” was the latest one.
Install Google Apps Fixer (If installed Google Apps): For this enter into the recovery, move to install zip from sdcard using the Volume Up/Down Keys, and click on the Home key to enter. Then select choose zip from sdcard and in the next screen navigate to the gapps_fixer.zip file and select it. Please note that, here, if the google sync does not work even after installing the Google Apps Fixer, do a Factory Reset and Do Not restore the data backup made by Titanium Backup.

Some good news for Android lovers are here… Google recently released the Beta version of Google Chrome for Android. Unfortunately, this one is only for the Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0 users and will be available in a select few countries (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil).
Still having Google Chrome on Android will be a great thing considering the Chrome Sync feature enabling the users to bring their personalized settings from the desktop version of Chrome. Some of the main features included are:

Gesture feature to switch tabs, with unlimited tabs

Some of the prerequisites to be followed:
Take the back-up of all the apps: To do so, in case you have a rooted phone, you may use Titanium Backup from Android Market. If you don’t have rooted phone, you can use Astro File Manager (Available in Android Market for free) to take the backup.
Backup of contacts: Mostly all the Android devices are preset to sync the contacts with the gmail account. In-case, you have disabled it, you can enable it by getting into Contacts–>Options–>More–>Accounts and select the google account and check mark the sync contacts option.
Taking back-up of Call Logs and Messages: You can use third party apps from android market like SMS Backup + (Again freely available) which will sync your logs and messages to your gmail account as labels which can be easily restored later.
Once done with the prerequisites, carryout the following steps:
Unzip the ODIN, CF-Root-XW_TMN_JVU-v4.3-CWM3RFS.zip and Drivers to their respective folders in case it requires any password, it will be “samfirmware.com”.
Now, the first thing to be done is install the phone drivers on the PC which you are to use for flashing the ROM. To do this, navigate to SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2300_0folder and select the appropriate setup x86 or x64 based on the type of OS you are using on your PC.
Once this one has been installed, get your GT I9000 in the download mode by using the 3-Button combo. For that, first switch off the phone and wait for it to vibrate a little just to confirm that it is completely switched off. Then, press the three buttons: Power Key, Volume Downand Home Key and hold until you see a green android saying “Downloading”
Next, goto Flashprogram_Samsung_I9000__Pits folder and open I9003_Odin3 v1.82.exe (Don’t bother the I9003 in the file name. It is compatible for I9000 also)
Once ODIN has be opened, connect your phone to the PC while it is in download mode. Once connected, an “Added” remark will appear on the message window.
Then, click on the PDA button, navigate to the CF-Root-XW_TMN_JVU-v4.3-CWM3RFS.tar and select it.
Next, click on start and wait for a minute or so until message window shows “All threads completed” and “Pass” displayed on the top left box.
The phone will then automatically reboot.
